Black Tie

Black dress. Cliché but whatever.

Friday night I was invited to the Iron Horse Party, which is a black tie gala to benefit ALS. To date, the event has donated nearly $200,000 to the cause, and I’m sure by the end of the night, it easily surpassed that. It took place on the Tribeca Rooftop on a warm spring night, and it had an amazing live band rocked out to by even more fabulous people.

There was also an open bar so you can just imagine what 2 a.m. looked like in a room full of millennials with access to top shelf liquor and passed apps that everyone passed on.

‘Twas a shiz show to say the least… but a classy one. Guys in tuxes, girls wavering between knock off mini Hervé Legers and prom dresses, it was a sight.

I obviously took the middle — or should I say midi — ground and went for tea length. Grabbed this affordable dress literally with 15 minutes to spare and turned out to be just right to fit the setting. I think this dress proves tea length is not just reserved for tea parties.

Thank you again to my lovely friend Melissa for being my partner in crime. You, the martinis, and the “memories” were perfect.
