Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed

Wake up, dancing queens, it's Memorial Day.

Thank you to our vets for all you do and to Mother Nature for giving us the perfect weather to celebrate them.

This weekend was a dry run for how summer is going to be. We timed how long it takes to get out of the city; we got our base burns and determined what SPF is low enough to still get a tan; we figured out when is too early for that summer cocktail; and we dusted off the grills and unearthed that secret marinade recipe.

Summer is like riding a bike and this weekend was the perfect warm up to it. But with all the drinking, eating, partying, and sun, I bet your skin doesn't exactly have that perfect dewy glow you were hoping for. Sure, the tan helps but you can't fake dehydration and hungover eyes.

Because of that, and since I'm in the same boat as you, I've put together some of my favorite products to revamp your skin to leave you looking hashtag blessed Tuesday morning in the office. Check them out:

Suki Exfoliating Facial Cleanser: If I could eat this stuff I would-- which I know doesn't say much about what it does for your skin, but what first knocks you to your knees is the scent. The lemon is so refreshing, I promise it will wake you up with one whiff. Dampen your face, take a nickel size amount and rub with water between your hands, then onto your face. The crystals will start I foam as you exfoliate away all of the dead, tired skin cells. This scrub is also great for helping to perfect blemished skin.

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator: When your skin is looking meh, reach for this bottle. Like the Suki lemon scrub, it's great for exfoliating away dead skin, but with the microdermabrasion crystals, this product is a little grittier and really buffs away the sludge your pores are holding (ew). Rub a dime size amount over damp skin, rinse, and be reminded of the face you were born with.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer (with SPF): Duh. If you're thirsty, your skin is most definitely thirsty. After washing your face, apply two pumps all over your face and pay special attention to adding it to your eye area. Your puffy eyes show the most distress! Let this dry before adding anything else to your skin.

Origins GinZing eye cream: I refer to this stuff and liquid pearl. Dab a few splotches on your under eye dark circles and watch the light reflecting technology do its work! There is caffeine in it so after moisturizing, apply this potent pot as you sip your own cup of joe.

Nars Radiant Creamy concealer: Again, dark circles need a one-two- seven punch. To combat them, after the GinZing eye cream, cover with concealer for a real twinkle in your eye. This Nars formula is the heavy coverage you need without being too cakey. It's light enough to let your pearl base coat shine through, but thick enough to cover your hangover.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder: Don't kill me but your eyes probably still need a little more work. After putting in all the effort to cover the death they are hiding, you're going to need to set it in place. Take a fan or clean concealer brush and dab (don't wipe) the white powder under your eyes. This will prevent the concealer from creasing and keep all the other formulas in their place.

Maybelline Lots Of Lash Mascara: Expensive mascaras can be great but I consistently find myself reaching for this trusty drugstore buy. The brush has a heart shape great for lifting and plumping lashes and you know the formula is long standing and good. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Get this in "Blackest Black" which will make the whites of your eyes look even whiter. As the final step of waking up your eyes, apply two coats and voila, good morning, sunshine!

RMS Beauty Living Illuminizer: I've already sworn by this stuff years ago. Remember all the VS Angels use it? This is the one product that actually will give you that dewy I Woke Up Like This Beyoncé glow.

Benefit High Beam Highlighter: RMS is the OG of looking natural, but when you need a little more shine in your complexion, add a few dabs of this along your cheekbones and Cupid's bow the try to cut glass with those cheekbones. BAM.

Also, for good measure, make sure you brush your teeth and spritz some good perfume. (Pretty people smell good.) Then I promise you're all set.

With a little extra care, super hydration, and a little cover up, you're ready to take on the shortened workweek and still day dream about better times spent on the beach.

** more pictures to come tonight. I'm still down the shore and don't have access to my photo library!
