So I admit it—sometimes I can be all talk. I’ve been “going blonde” for three years. “I’m trying to get into running,” despite my self-diagnosed shin splints. “I’m thinking of going paleo” though I don’t know exactly what that entails. I’m a broken record of failed trigger-pulling attempts, but now I can finally say I crossed one thing off of that infinite white girl to-do list.
I moved to New York.
This summer, as many of you noted, Mand Made This was on a
temporary and unofficial hiatus. No excuse will make up for how pathetic that
was. It was a mondo transitional time where my mind was everywhere but here.
But look (or read) now, I’m back—in a new city doing the exact same thing I was
when I started this blog: job searching and doing what I love. (Those are two
separate thoughts.)
But in a point of despair, one could argue that that is when you are most creative. So please enjoy.
Check out how I celebrated the big move and stay tuned for
new city pics.
My only food request was that there be a mountain of oysters (that my dad later shucked) so in return, my mom MADE this sign. Everything from the party had the most perfect homemade touches.
It was a Boston/NYC themed affair with a keg of Boston Harpoon beer, a NYC "roof deck" and New York style pizza.
As cheesy and horribly unoriginal as this sounds, I am so grateful to everyone who came. With the ocean waves crashing in the background coupled with the oven smoke detector going off, I wouldn't have wanted to say goodbye any other way.
As always, xxo
